Paper Fans

The wall in the baby nursery is very blank and what better way to fill it up with creative ideas! I was browsing online to get some inspirations and I came across a couple of paper fans tutorials. They look relatively easy to make and given that I have a bagful of scrapbook papers, decided to have a go and make a wall montage out of paper fans. I added buttons in the middle of each fan to give that little bit of extra touch ^^

To create the backing, I used a rectangle cardboard and wrap it with any desired fabric material. Using hot glue, I stack the paper fans to give the effect as per picture.

Baby Tracksuits

It's been since I update this blog.In the last 8 months, I've gone from being a Lady of Leisure to back in working full time. This doesn't give me much opportunity to do leisure activities. However, things are changing and I am expecting a bundle of joy in about 3 months time!!! Perfect excuse to start sewing and be creative again ^^

I had the in-laws over last weekend and my MIL has kindly showed me how to make baby tracksuits. I was quite doubtful about completing a tracksuit in a day especially when I have no idea where to begin. Turns out to be such a simple and delightful task...and only takes couple of hours to complete it (probably faster if you aren't a novice like me)!

Tutorial:

  • Materials : Fleece for tops and pants. Cotton ribbing for the wrists, neck, outline of tops' bottom and ankles. Elastic band used for the waist of the pants
  • Did not take a step by step tutorial for this project. My MIL has kindly gave me a pattern for a 6 months size.
  • Found online a similar pattern/tutorial for the pants and tops. Hope you find it handy!
