Travel Dress & Skirt

Am feeling sooooo excited to be flying off this Friday to go on our 3 weeks holidays. Was thinking of wearing something fun and cute whilst on holidays and so I made a dress and a circular skirt with elastic band. As part of my fabric stash, I have thai silk and reckons it looks good making a dress and skirt out of it. Still have bit of silk material left and if I have time before I fly off, might make 2 tops from it based on tops that I have and loved.

Computer Chair Cushion

Sam has been using an old pillow as a base chair raise cushion, making his hours of programming on the computer a tad more comfortable. The pillow did not really serve him as well since it kept slipping off the chair and not much comfort support.

I decided to re-use the old pillow and put in more polyester fill in it to make it cushier. Made a new cover as well with 2 ribbons sewed on the sides of the cover so it can be easily tied to the chair so it won't slip. Sam will still use a decorative pillow we had at home for the back support.

Table Setting

On Sunday, I had my uni friends (Billie & Charlyn) over for a lunch catch up. Good excuse to use our new dinnerware and for me to make a table runner and napkins. I did a simple table runner using one of my tougher brown fabric and the napkins I used a textured soft white cotton fabric. Table decorated with few scented colored candles with a small vase of herbs (mint, parsley, coriander).

I whipped up a fusion lunch menu:
  • Starter - Flower shape garlic bread (tad sour, probably because i mixed too much garlic with the butter mixture)
  • Appetizers - Home-made marinated chicken wings and spring rolls
  • Main - Salmon on tabouli
  • Dessert - Kahlua Affogato
